He describes Armani as a real family, where loyalty is rare in both fashion and football. 'They're very loyal, and there is not much loyalty in fashion, as well as football. 'Around three years in, I felt extremely lonely and depressed. Eventually, I had to see a psychiatrist to get through that period.' Regarding finances, Halls also had to completely change his mindset. In football, whether you play or not, you still get paid. But in fashion, if you're not booked, you have no income. 'I always say the modelling life, a working model is a great, great life. A not working model is not such a nice life. No matter what, as a good working model, you're still two weeks away from being a non-working model.' E-com jobs (shooting for e-commerce websites) can pay from £500 to £7,000, depending on the model's reputation. Lookbook shoots pay more, while campaigns pay even more. Fragrance contracts are the most lucrative, often bringing massive income to models. Interestingly, editorial shoots are usually unpaid but bring publicity value and public attention. 'You appear in a magazine, but you get the hype and the attention. It's a different form of investment.' Regarding runway shows, Halls said: 'The boys will come and go and do runway. If they get paid for runway, they're lucky. If they walk away from Milan evens after a week there, they're lucky. Some boys will walk away with a few grand in their pocket, but that's the exception.'
